All parents want to be good parents and to raise healthy and successful children. Raising children is not always easy, certainly not when poverty, violence, inaccessible basic services and drug abuse.
The Skillful Parenting program developed by Children Connections Care helps fathers, mothers and other caregivers in Kenya in raising children. Our innovative Skillful Parenting program is based on the theory of planned behavior change and attachment.
The parenting program is designed for, and evaluated in Kenya. The program aims to increase parental competence, well-being and social support as well as children’s development and wellbeing.
Under guidance of a local facilitator, trained and certified by Children Connections Care, parents and caregivers with children come together on a weekly basis to gain knowledge and skills, reflect on their role and parenting style, and share their daily parenting experiences and dilemmas.
