Prevention Work
a) Develop and carry out preventions’ programs and family support programming in order to prevent family child separation and out of home placements.
CCIs Intervention
b) Sensitize Charitable Children’s Institutions, residential care providers, communities andother stakeholders on the importance of valuing families and communities as the heart ofnurturing care for better child development and outcomes.
Childcare Practitioners
c) Carrying out capacity building and skills training of practitioners in childcare and service providers at various levels so that they can effectively promote and implement family-based care programming such as guardianship, foster care, kinship care, adoption and family strengthening programs.
Parents & Guardians
d) Carry out capacity building and skills training of parents and guardians on parenting, psycho-education as a contribution towards promotion of family and community-based care for all children.
Teen Mothers
e) Capacity building of teen mothers to enhance their parental capacity, as well as networking with organizations providing services to this group e.g., support for continuing with school and reintegration with their families.
Education and Resourcing of Children
f) Enhance and promote education of children through provision of relevant resources, partnerships with educational institutions and linkages with other organizations in order to deal social, educational and digital exclusion.
Advocacy and Awareness
g) Sensitize society on the importance of building healthy families as a strong foundation for the nation, through advocacy and awareness campaigns and networking with other organizations, and local institutions in order to enhance the functioning and support of families. This includes documenting evidence-based programs, research, publishing, content creation and lobbying for policies that enhance the family-based care and child protection.
Technical Support
h) Provide technical and advisory advice and support through engaging strategic players in the children’s sector, training, associations, collaborations, designing of interventions and approaches as well as implementation of quality family and community-based care programming.
